President’s Corner

Dear Members,

As we welcome the new year, I want to express my gratitude for each of you who participated in our events last year. Your enthusiasm keeps our club vibrant and active! Let’s make 2026 even more amazing with new projects and initiatives.

Upcoming Events:

Monthly Club Meeting
Date: February 7, 2026
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Johnson County Emergency Operations Center

Agenda: Club updates, upcoming events planning, and a special presentation on everything POTA by Jacob, AI5XR.
We will also hold an FCC license testing session at 6:00 p.m. before the meeting. Please email testing@w5jcr.com if you are interested in testing during this session. You can also reach out with any questions or to schedule a future test session.

Member Spotlights:

This month, we feature Ed, KJ5JQD and Jacob, AI5XR. They have been instrumental in organizing local POTA events which has provided new interest in new HAMs and old. Thank you both for your hard work and dedication to the hobby!

Technical Corner:

This month’s topic is “Getting Started with Software-Defined Radio (SDR).” We will provide resources and tutorials to help members explore this exciting technology.

Get Involved!

We are always looking for volunteers for events and activities. If you are interested in contributing or having ideas for future club projects, please reach out!

Psssssst!

If you haven’t renewed your membership for 2026, you should do so! Anything that must be voted on, can only be voted on by active club members. Your voice matters!
We are still having some technical difficulties for the dues on the website, so if you run into an issue paying, don’t fret. I will see your application and will work with you. You are always welcome to pay in person at club meetings.

Email me if you have questions, otherwise we will see you soon!
Destiny, KG5MRD, Club Secretary
