Monthly Meetings & Training

Meetings

The JCARC meets every second Saturday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Typically held at:
Johnson County Emergency Operations Center
810 E Kilpatrick St, Cleburne, TX 76033.

All are welcome to attend our meetings! Come join us to learn more about the hobby and see what we’re all about.

Meetings consist of two main parts. The first part includes a quick recap from the previous month, old and new business discussions, any necessary voting, and important announcements. We usually have a quick coffee and snack break. Then the second half is focused on training over a specific topic chosen either by the presenter or requested by our members.

A meeting reminder is sent to all of our subscribers and posted to our website the week prior. If there are any changes in location, timing, or cancellation, they will be posted there. Visit our Contact Us page if you wish to receive these emails.

Training Topics

Looking for training on specific topics? Let us know! There are so many things to learn and discover, it’s difficult to even know where to begin. If you’re new to the hobby, you may have questions about your first mobile set-up, choosing the “right radio”, how to talk on the repeater, etc. Hams that have been participating in the hobby for a while may have questions about topics like digital modes, using remote software, etc. Did you know that you can use meteors for signal propagation??

If you’re interested in learning about a specific topic, or maybe interested in presenting about a topic, contact our training coordinator, via the email below. Our training coordinator helps organize topics for our meetings and events.
