The club officers have agreed that it is necessary to cancel our in-person event for Winter Field Day.
This means we will not be camping at Kimball Bend or meeting at the Johnson County EOC.
Here is a message from our Club President:
With great sadness, JCARC will be cancelling the Winter Field Day activities due to severe weather which will impact on our area during the event. This is a tough call but a necessary one to ensure the safety of all people planning to attend the event.
We do encourage everyone to participate with their call sign from their home shack. The website is www.winterfieldday.org . I plan on it so I can check my equipment out. I will definitely be monitoring 2M/70cm, including simplex.
Please be safe and look forward to seeing you at our next club meeting at 7pm, February 7th.

Kimball Bend Park will be shutting off the water to the campsites in preparation as below freezing temperatures will pose hazards to their infrastructure and to people as well. With the potential for icy road conditions and other impacts to the area, we encourage everyone to stay safe and stay warm at home, if possible.
73s, and have a wonderful day!
Destiny, KG5MRD, Club Secretary
P.S. I really want to throw some snowballs, but I will settle for this!
