ARRL Field Day 2025

2025 ARRL Field Day is Saturday, June 28th, 1800, UTC through Sunday, June 29th, 2059, UTC. All are welcome to participate, whether through our club, another group, or on your own! You can check out more information about the ARRL event here: http://www.arrl.org/field-day.

The Johnson County Amateur Radio Club will participate in the event, and everyone is welcome to attend. You do not need to be a club member or have your license yet!

  • Location: Johnson County EOC, 810 E Kilpatrick St., Cleburne, TX 76033
    • The event is in the Emergency Management building ONLY.
    • Please be mindful of the Communications Center next door.
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. ~ 9:00 p.m. CST
  • There will be HF Radio Operations during the entire event to represent the JCARC with the ARRL. If you want to operate for 5 minutes or an hour, just let us know at the event. If you do not have your General License, this is an excellent opportunity to operate HF under a control operator. 
  • There will be license testing at the event. It is recommended to email ahead of the event to ensure your spot. Send an email on what test you want to take to testing@w5jcr.com.

We will be holding Tech Day from 10 am to 5 pm during the Field Day. Come check out some local tech talks and seminars. The schedule is below.

10:00 AM – POTA (Parks on the Air) Jacob will be discussing his tech stuff and working POTA Stations across the nation. He has become a nationwide expert on POTA, receiving various awards. 

11:30 AM – 40 M NVIS and Wolf River Coil Antenna Operations. Ted Jagen will demonstrate his NVIS Antenna using his FT-710 and battery operations. 

1:00 PM – Radio frequency locator – Craig will be demonstrating his frequency locator in his vehicle. 

2:00PM – Electrical Safety Seminar – Paul will be discussing electrical safety and working with low voltage and high voltage electrical equipment. 

3:30 PM – 3D Printing Radio Accessory Parts and attachments – Dustin

4:30 PM – OPEN

There will be a dinner in the early evening of the event.
We hope everyone will come out and enjoy.
